English setter is of medium height, clean in outline and elegant in appearance. It moves with a free and graceful action, suggesting speed and endurance. It is very active with a keen game sense and is intensely friendly and good natured. The temperament is one of the distinguishing features of the breed, making it an excellent companion dog. English setters originally bred for finding and setting birds, so it gave the name to the breed as "setter". English setters shows the fliying gallop and intense point finding the game. And traditionally setter is the dog for on-foot hunter. It could be capable of doing most (in some cases all) of the tasks required of versatile dogs. The breed has very attractive appiarance because of its long silky coat and bright coloring together with style of noble animal. The colors are white flecked whith orange, blue, liver, tricolour markings varies from almost white to roan. Well groomed and trained setter is the beautiful picture of the successful show dog.
Английский сеттер - собака среднего размера, элегантная, благородных линий, очень привлекательная, в.т.ч. числе благодаря нарядному окрасу и длинной шелковистой шерсти. Окрас крапчатый (бельтон): белый с рыжими (оранж-бельтон), черными (блю-бельтон), коричневыми (печеночный, ливер-бельтон) отметинами или трехцветный; варьируется от практически белого до чалого окраса. При правильном уходе и треннировке может стать очень успешной выставочной собакой. Сеттер активен, дружелюбен, страстный охотник и компаньон. Традиционно используется для пешей охоты на дичь. Основная работа -поиск и обозначение места нахождения птицы стойкой - "set", что и дало название породе. Характер и сообразительность позволяют использовать английского сеттера как универсальную охотничью собаку.
